Iran Rejects Latest U.S. Proposal on Nuclear Deal
The recent proposal from the United States regarding Iran’s nuclear program has been deemed “completely unacceptable” by Tehran. Iranian officials described the terms as “one-sided and far from reality” and stated that the proposal will not be considered a basis for any potential agreement.
White House Sends New Nuclear Proposal
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that Steven Witkoff, Special Envoy of the U.S. President, had submitted a detailed and acceptable proposal to the Iranian government regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.
However, Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized that the United States has yet to provide any guarantees about lifting anti-Iranian sanctions. He stated that Iran’s official response will reflect the country’s national interests.
Nuclear Talks Continue in Rome
On May 23, Iranian and U.S. representatives held the fifth round of nuclear talks in Rome, with Oman acting as the mediator. According to Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, the discussions resulted in “certain but not final progress.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister expressed cautious optimism, noting that Tehran and Washington hope to achieve positive outcomes within the next one or two rounds of talks.
